PROSPECTUS

Birds, Bugs, & Blooms

Theme: Birds, Bugs, & Blooms 

Location: Toledo Artists’ Club




This collection explores environments through representations of landscapes and urban structures, considering the many ways place shapes human experience. Whether depicting the quiet rhythms of the natural world or the complexity of the built environment, each work examines the character, history, and emotional resonance of its subject. Together, these pieces invite viewers to observe familiar surroundings with fresh perspective and to consider how natural and constructed environments influence our sense of identity, connection, and place.

Artists are invited to submit digital images (.JPG) of up to three original works of art. All submissions must be made through the online application. The show will be promoted on the Toledo Artists' Club website and Facebook page to the public and area art organizations.


All artwork must be original,  not produced in a class or workshop. Work should not be a copy of another artist's work. Artwork that received an award in any previous exhibition at the Toledo Artists’ Club can be submitted, but it is not eligible for an award.

 

Important dates:

  • Online entries begin Aug. 1 and end Aug. 29
  • August 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. OR call/email to set up an appointment
    Help session at TAC to enter this show. Come to the Toledo Artists' Club. Bring your flat artwork to

  • Artwork delivered to the Club: Sept. 24, 25, between 12:00 and 4:00 pm
  • Acceptance notifications: Sept. 15 
  • Tentative meet & greet: Sept 30, 5:30 - 7:00 pm
  • Artwork picked up from the Club Oct 29 & 30, between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m.


Eligibility and Entry Fee
Toledo Artists’ Club (TAC) members: $35.00 for one, two, or three pieces.
Non-members: $40.00 for one, two, or three pieces.

The fee is paid when submitting entries.
 

Entry Procedure

  • Having the following information and images ready before completing the application will make the process faster and more efficient.
  • Name, address, email, phone number
  • Artwork title, media, materials, dimensions (Important: dimensions stated MUST be
    the framed size.)
  • Retail price
  • Images of artwork
  • Complete the application below.
  • The contact information must be accurate; the email address and phone number provided will be used to contact you regarding your submission.
    Image files should be in high-quality JPEG format, not exceeding 2MB in size, and 1,920 pixels on the longest side.
    A maximum of three (3) images may be submitted.
  • The Club retains the right to reject any entry it considers inappropriate.

  • Image files should be in high-quality JPEG format, not exceeding 2MB in size, and 1,920 pixels on the longest side
  • A maximum of three (3) images may be submitted
  • Each uploaded file name must contain your first initial, last name, the title of the work, and medium. Separate all initials and words with an underscore; do not use a space.
  • Example: v_van_gogh_the_starry_night_oil.jpg
  • Please follow the file naming example carefully

PLEASE NOTE that entries without properly sized and labeled images may be disqualified until they meet the image submission requirements.

Awards

The juror chosen by the Toledo Artists’ Club Board Members will select these awards:

  • Best of Show: $100.00
  • First Place: $75.00
  • Second Place: $50.00
  • Third Place: $25.00
  • Four Honorable Mention Certificates.
  • One People's Choice Award

The People's Choice Award is selected by visitors to Toledo Artists’ Club during the exhibit by voting for their favorite work. The artist whose work receives the most votes will receive the People's Choice Award. The winning artwork and recognition will be exhibited at the Toledo Artists' Club.


Artwork sales information

You may set a price and mark your artwork for sale or mark it not-for-sale (NFS). Leave the figures $00.00 in the price field on the application if you don't wish to sell a piece.  The contact information of any buyer will be provided to the artist shortly after the close of the exhibit. The artist is responsible for arranging the delivery to the purchaser of any work sold. For all work that is sold, the sale price minus
a commission (25%) to Toledo Artists’ Club will be remitted to the artist within 30 days of the end of
of the show.
