September 2025: News and Notes
Forest Conversation by Sally Marti
“There's no retirement for an artist, it's your way of living, so there's no end to it.” Henry Moore
THANK YOU!

We sincerely thank everyone who continues to support the Toledo Artists’ Club!
- We are deeply grateful to everyone who supported our Day of Giving campaign on August 22. Your generosity makes it possible for us to sustain the club’s daily operations, provide gallery opportunities for artists to exhibit and sell their work, and offer meaningful programs such as classes, workshops, and community gatherings. Contributions are still being received, and we look forward to sharing the final total at our upcoming membership meeting. Stay tuned for details!
- This year, 30+ members contributed 112 pieces of artwork for our Art in the Garden sale. Unsold pieces will remain available in our classroom and at the Roche de Boeuf Festival in Waterville on September 27. Some pieces will also be displayed in the classroom for sale.
- If you’re interested in volunteering—even just once a month—please let us know. Email info@toledoartistclub.com. It's easy to welcome visitors and handle sales via Square. Training provided. You can bring art to work on, read a book from our art library, or invite friends and family to accompany you.
Your time and support help keep the Toledo Artists Club vibrant, welcoming, and connected to the community.

Juror’s Statement – Michelle Alexander:
“The theme of the exhibit reads like an invitation for the artist to be neither confined nor hesitant, but rather unrestrained in their approach to the medium of choice. The idea worked well, as a variety of unique styles and subject matter display a rich variance of freedom and vision. It was a delight to carefully gaze, take notes of detail, understand the process, and contemplate the feelings and emotions each artist translated into their finished work. I offer my gratitude and respect to each participant, whose passion for the artistic process is on display for us to admire and enjoy.”
